Topic: Loneliness and The Power of Social Connection in the Workplace

Presented By: Danielle Hunter, GBDS, Area Vice President | Gallagher Benefit Services, Health & Benefits Consulting

Loneliness has reached crisis levels in the US, and navigating the professional landscape can sometimes be isolating. During Mental Health Awareness Month, we shine a light on the importance of fostering connection for overall well-being.

    Learning Outcomes:

    • Recognizing the impact of loneliness: From understanding the physical and emotional implications of loneliness, to exploring how loneliness can affect professional growth.
    • Building meaningful connections: The roles mentorship and peer support can play in fostering connection to combat loneliness, reducing stress, and cultivating a sense of community in the workplace.
    • Creating a Supportive Workplace Culture: Discover strategies organizations can take to mitigate loneliness, including the importance of diversity, inclusion, and allyship in fostering a supportive environment and understanding when too much connectedness becomes a negative versus a positive.
