We all play a vital role in developing our future workforce. Our interactions within the community, our volunteerism and our recruitment practices make differences every day. As a SHRM Core Leadership Area, HR Professionals across the nation are involved as SHRM determines where we, as HR Professionals, can best impact Workforce Readiness.
SHRM has determined that SHRM and HR Professionals should take leadership roles in the following areas:
Awareness: Serve as a one-stop repository of Workforce Readiness information for the HR and business community.
Action: Help to identify and support volunteer opportunities at the national, state and local level for SHRM members and all HR professionals.
Advocacy: At both the federal and state-level, participate in and influence policy discussions surrounding Workforce Readiness.
Many issues surrounding WFR are said to be "Global Problems" with "Local Solutions"; therefore, it is critical to engage HR Professionals at the local chapter level to achieve successful results.
Various activities are planned each year and HRMAG members with an interest in this area are encouraged to volunteer in these efforts. Contact the Workforce Readiness Director if this is a service area that interests you.
